MySQL (/ˌmaɪˌɛsˌkjuːˈɛl/) is a relational database management system (RDBMS) with a client-server model. MySQL uses structured query language (SQL) to manage data inside a database.

MySQL is free and open-source software under the terms of the GNU General Public License and is also available under various proprietary licenses.
